Freemasonry in Pittsburgh

Free and Accepted Masons in Pittsburgh’s North Hills, part of the 55th Masonic District of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania. Stated meetings the third Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM.

Welcome to Dallas Lodge

Dallas Lodge No. 231 is a friendly, down-to-earth group of men who believe in becoming better versions of ourselves and in helping others along the way. Freemasonry gives us a place to grow, to learn from one another and to give back, and our lodge and its predecessors have been doing just that in Pittsburgh since 1848.

Our members come from Ross, McCandless, Shaler, Hampton, Wexford and the surrounding communities of Pittsburgh’s North Hills and beyond. Many of us walked through the door not knowing a single Mason, and found good friends who share a commitment to integrity, charity and service.

Whether you are curious about Freemasonry, thinking about joining, or a Brother passing through town, you are welcome here. Come say hello at our next meeting, or drop us a note.

Our heritage

Dallas Lodge No. 231 carries the heritage of more than ten Pittsburgh lodges. Among them are Solomon Lodge No. 231, founded in 1848 by German-speaking Masons, and Dallas Lodge No. 508, founded in 1872 and named for Vice President and Pennsylvania Grand Master George M. Dallas.

In 1915 our predecessor Oakland Lodge No. 535 was the first lodge to hold its stated meeting in the new Masonic Temple in Oakland. Since 1996, Pittsburgh’s lodges have met at the Greater Pittsburgh Masonic Center in the North Hills.
